An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas, that is regulated by Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. Milam County ESD No. 1 was created on November 7th, 2023 by the voters of Milam County. Our District includes all incorporated municipalities and the unincorporated portions of Milam County.

PUBLIC NOTICE TO BANKS
RFP for Selection of Depository
Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals from interested banks will be received until 5:00 p.m. on April 1, 2026, at PO Box 1667, Rockdale, Texas 76567, for a bank depository contract for Milam County Emergency Services District No. 1 pursuant to Section 775.072, Texas Health and Safety Code, and other applicable law.
Proposals will be opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of the Board of Emergency Services Commissioners on April 7, 2026, at 120 West Ave E, Milano, Texas 76556. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to select the proposal considered most favorable to the District.

2025 Tax Information
MILAM COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 1 ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $8.23.
